Although launched in 2013, Tauer Perfumes PHI-une rose de Kandahar is a new addition to our Tauer collection. The reason is because the rose oil used in this fragrance comes from Afghanistan’s rose region, Nangarhar and is in limited production, making this Tauer fragrance a rare gem and not guaranteed to be available all the time. Luckily we recently received a few bottles and the sample orders for this one have been flying out the door!

Like most Tauer fragrances, this one is unlike anything else you have ever smelled before. If you love rose perfumes, you are in for a real treat because it doesn’t get any better than this! A blend of sweet rose and fruit with a lavish side of tobacco. PHI-une rose de Kandahar is soft, velvety and very well-balanced. There is absolutely no trace of powdery ‘old lady’ rose here. On the contrary, this is a modern and very easy to wear fragrance. At first whiff I can smell true rose, hinted with dried apricots, almond (which smells more like marzipan) and fresh bergamot. As it begins to settle, I can smell spicy tobacco, creamy tonka, vanilla, and refreshing notes of grassy vetiver. Throughout all this, the rose notes remains true and strong to the end, continuously complimented by its surrounding notes. In the drydown we are left with a warm suede-like musk. Super sexy with excellent sillage.

In general, the night was stormy and lasted until the morning). Viagra at https://mckesson.uk/viagra/ is really a great drug! I can’t say anything about the side effects. It’s very individual and depends on the general state of health. You can try it a few times and get both pleasure and joy straight out. Personally, I’ll continue to take it.

With temperatures continuing to drop, I think PHI-une rose de Kandahar makes for the perfect season to wear this masterpiece! Wear it any time of day, but I think it will shine bright in the evening hours.

kandahar

Olfactive Family: Floral

HEAD NOTES: Phi starts with a rich fruity line of apricot. An all natural apricot extract with its surprising richness enchants and blends into a cinnamon line and hints of bitter almond, softened by bergamot essential oil.

HEART NOTES: These spices lead over to voluptuous roses in the fragrance heart: Extremely rare rose essential oil with its unique scent of spices, plums and flower petals blends into rose absolute from Bulgaria and hints of Bourbon geranium. The rose petals melt on the skin into a dark tobacco fond, built around an amazing absolute of dried tobacco leaves.

BASE NOTES: The animalic, leathery and woody tobacco opens the ground for a generously dosed layer of patchouli in the base of Phi. Here, woody and gourmand notes melt into hints of animalic lines. Vetiver, vanilla and tonka add richness and brilliance. A generous dose of exclusive musk and amber gris round the body of the fragrance and encircle the roses.

Availability: In-store and online.

multi-corrective

As a beauty editor, I have tested product after product after product. Some I LOVE, some I like and some I just don’t quite understand. That being said, I am always up for a test-drive! I’m now in my early thirties and it seems now that more and more products are launching in the last year that are targeted to my age group. Makes sense, as us thirty-somethings are still hanging on to the tail end of the youthful glow of our twenties and just starting to see the effects of sun damage and early signs of aging.

Every age has different skin care needs. Ideally, anti-aging efforts should start very early, but skin at thirty years of age has a different anti-aging focus than skin at fifty. A fifty-year-old is likely experiencing the start of sagging skin, so products formulated to promote lifting, firming and and increased collagen production makes perfect sense, whereas a thirty-year-old may start to see the first signs of fine lines and wrinkles.

Anti-aging products and skin care regimens are becoming increasingly specialized in terms of age and this is the same with regards to active ingredients. For those of us in our 30s who are starting to see our first wrinkles (“expression” wrinkles, caused by repeated muscular contraction), it is important to look for products with targeted ingredients that help to treat early signs of aging, and at best fight against further development, ingredients that are not too aggressive in terms of correction, but more so in terms of prevention.

Metacell-1

SkinCeuticals is addressing the needs of thirty-something skin with their latest launch, Metacell Renewal B3, a treatment for those with “early photoaging” (sun damage). This emulsion formulation delivers a high concentration of 5% niacinamide combined with 2.5% tightening tri-peptide concentrate and 15% glycerin to help improve the look of early photoaging. While signs of photoaging appear at different intensities according to skin biology, lifestyle, geography, sun protection behaviour, and skincare regimen, they have a multiplicative effect, creating a prematurely-aged appearance. Metacell Renewal B3 is a comprehensive daily corrective moisturizer that visibly corrects the appearance of early photoaging to re-clarify skin, reduce wrinkles, re-tighten surface elasticity, and even skin tone.

That’s an impressive list of benefits, especially when you consider these results could be seen in a little as three months! I have been using Metacell Renewal B3 for a little over a month now and I have seen great improvements already. To begin with, I was going through a terrible phase with my skin prior to use. Slight acne on my forhead and uneven skin tone and texture had suddenly plagued my almost flawless skin. I couldn’t figure out what was happening. Was this part of the skin aging process? Likely, but of course other factors must be taken into consideration such as, seasonal change (summer to fall), diet, environment etc,. Although fine lines and wrinkles are not yet present on my skin, I was eager to treat my uneven skin tone and the sun damage that was starting to surface.

I took the Cialis tablets at the beginning in 1x 10 mg for effect about 3-4 days, bought at https://mckesson.uk/cialis/. A weekend means sex tablets, so to speak. But only every few weeks. After that, my doctor advised me to take the 5 mg variant daily to ensure a permanent recall of the erection.

My current skin care regimen is as follows:

AM:
Cleanse with SkinCeuticals Blemish + Age Cleansing Gel
Apply SkinCeuticals Blemish + Age Defense and wait a few minutes. I alternate this with a Vitamin C+E serum.
Apply my eye cream.
Apply a small amount of SkinCeuticals Metacell Renewal B3 to my face, chest and neck.
Finish with SkinCeuticals Physical Fusion UV Defense

PM:
Cleanse with SkinCeuticals Blemish + Age Cleansing Gel
Apply my eye cream.
Apply a small amount of SkinCeuticals Metacell Renewal B3 to my face, chest and neck.

In just over a month, the acne on my forehead has cleared and my even skin tone has returned. My skin looks and feels tighter and refreshed. I usually do not use SkinCeuticals moisturizers, as I had yet to find one that worked well with my skin until now. Skinceuticals, I am now a fan!

Important to note: Sun protection at any and every age is very important, especially when combined with the use of antioxidants serums, which can help neutralize toxins and help detoxify the skin. This is something I believe in strongly! When it comes to protection, you cannot never start early enough.

“He had prepared for this moment for several months. Each clue would lead her to the next, recalling one by one the places of that magical first encounter. She is finally there. Overcome by the beauty and power of jasmine in bloom, it is apparent their love is ready for the next step.”

It’s no secret that I am one of Atelier Cologne’s biggest fans. So, naturally, I knew that I would love the newest scent to come out of my favourite French fragrance house. Jasmin Angélique is certainly no exception! It was love at first sniff… again. What can I say? I LOVE a good cologne, and add some green notes to that… heaven!

There are two dominating notes in this fragrance, as the name suggests: Angelica is a green herbal-peppery note with nuances of sweet musk that dances so beautifully with any  citrus and floral composition. Jasmine, the symbol of the French art of perfumery lends an irresistible and seductive heady layer to this fragrance. From a fresh blast of peppery green lemon to sweet fig rounding out any chance of bitterness, to a gorgeous, warm musky- wood finish, Jasmin Angélique is one of those fragrances that makes noses turn you way. I have been wearing this fragrance every day this past week and I can’t stop sniffing my wrists throughout the day. A must try for both ladies and gentlemen!

Travels to the Far East and beyond

The latest addition to our HEELEY Parfum collection has arrived! Introducing Esprit du Tigre EDP. A fragrance for the spirited man or woman with vibrant notes of clove, mint, cardamom, cinnamon, pepper and vetiver. Some say that it smells a bit like Tiger Balm in the opening, but I beg to differ. Yes, it does have a medicinal element to it, but only at first whiff and it is more sweet-boozy. I think of it like a tiger pouncing on it’s prey. It may be a bit shocking at first, but then it settles into something quite hypnotic as it sinks its teeth into you.  I smell a spicy incense that is cooled by fresh mint. I love a fragrance that has the ability to play with hot and cold facets. So there you go, this is where the Tiger Balm comes in, more as a sensation than an offensive odor. As Esprit du Tigre settles down, it sits close to the skin on soothing notes of cinnamon and vetiver. Lovely! I have to admit that this scent is not for everyone. It has a fire, energy and colour that is undeniable, so if you are adventurous with fragrances, I highly recommend sampling this one!

A new fragrance line has arrived at Etiket and we could not be more excited! Perhaps it’s because this is a brand made in our own city of Montreal! Monsillage takes a personal approach to perfume, associating past memories of travel, characters and real-life stories experienced by perfumer and creator Isabelle Michaude. When I first sampled the line, I was immediately drawn to Vol 870 YUL- CDG, for many reasons. One, I love anything to do with travel, planes, airports etc,.  Also, I have traveled this route a few times and have fond memories of my time spent in The City Of Light – sights, smells, food… Reminiscing about past travel can easily transport me back to some of the most inspiring moments of my life and scent memories are certainly no exception! Even just a hint of a scent can strike a chord with a memory or place.

Now, on to the juice – a one way ticket to Paris!

What’s interesting about Monsillage fragrances is that they all smell very different from sniffer stick to the skin. I would urge you to try samples, take them home and wear them to get the most accurate scent. When I first smelled Vol 870 YUL-CDG on paper, I wasn’t moved… on my skin however, I am head over heels in love… take off! Soft, feminine and so unique with opening notes of ylang-ylang and balsam fir that’s slightly sweet, with hints of woods, fruit and musk. As this fragrance comes to “a landing”,  it becomes a lovely warm, musky skin scent with very good longevity and sillage. Perfectly balanced and very easy to wear any time of year.

daffodilThis spring, Penhaligon’s launched Ostara. A delicate solar floral fragrance inspired by spring’s cheery yellow flower, the daffodil. When I smell it, I see yellow. Ostara is a modern version of strong floral scent refreshed with aldehydes and fresh green notes. The opening of Ostara is true to the scent of Daffodils, lush green stems, leaves, and earth. Bergamot, Juniper and Spearmint provide a fresh, lively and crisp edge, while Violet Leaf Absolute adds an earthy, vegetal facet. As Ostara dries down, it become soft and delicate. Vanilla and musk, add a slightly sweet, creamy-fluffy effect that finishes powdery. The sillage is light, but the longevity is excellent! An instant classic, I would say!
