These were the words that Céline Verleure heard when she followed her dream to create Olfactive Studio. Olfactive Studio was born out of her desire to create a resolutely avant-garde and modern niche brand of perfumes. Olfactive Studio is an encounter between contemporary artistic photography and perfumery; between the eye and the nose.
Born in France, near Chambord, Céline worked for the house of Kenzo under Pierre Broc, the creator of Kenzo fragrances, and at 28, created Kenzo Jungle with perfumers Dominique Ropion and Jean-Louis Sieuzac, and then l’Eau par Kenzo with Olivier Cresp. After that, she launched Osmoz.com for perfume aficionados, based on an original idea by Firmenich. After travelling the world from Tokyo to Pondichery to Rio she returned to the world of perfume. After working a few years at L’Oréal, she decided to launch the “Blog for the Fragrance that doesn’t (yet) exist!” to tempt fate and give birth to a new brand of fragrances, thanks to the collective intuitions of an online community from which Olfactive Studio was born.
Olfactive Studio is at the crossroads of a photographic studio and a perfume design studio. This is the first time ever that perfumers have teamed up with photographers to draw inspiration from their work. They sense the images to capture their essence.
Photography and perfume capture the moment and rekindle the memory of past experiences. Imagining a sensorial, intimate, and poetic relationship between images and scents to reconcile temporal spaces. “Perfumer’s proofs” are born out of the perfume creator’s emotions invoked by the picture and have proved to be authentic and original olfactory creations. They take us from a world where perfumes are harvested to one where time is captured.
Together, talented perfumers and photographers have created Olfactive Studio which consists of the following fragrances: Autoportrait, Flash Back, Still Life, Lumière Blanche and Chambre Noire. Olfactive Studio designs an exceptional olfactory world with a powerful and distinctive personality; a world of intuitions and emotions; a world designed for women and men. The perfumes are angels; they have no gender, but they have a soul.
Olfactive Studio was launched in Paris in September 2011 and is today enjoying tremendous success in over 20 countries in Europe, the Middle East, South Africa, Australia, the United States.
