Penhaligon’s is known for their original and exceptional fragrances, and is considered a favourite brand amongst modern gentlemen. But, did you know that Penhaligon’s also offers a comprehensive grooming and skin care line just for men?

BAYOLEA launched in 2014, is a reformulation of a classic scent from the Penhaligon’s extensive archive. This citrus aromatic fragrance combines notes of mandarin and lemongrass with warm tones of cardamom, sandalwood, cedar, musk and lavender – a trend we are still seeing strong in men’s fragrances right now.

Penhaligon's Bayolea

Penhaligon’s  extensive collection of men’s grooming products fulfils all the grooming needs of the modern gentleman, from facial scrubs and shaving cream to razors, beard and shave oil, deodorant and travel sets.  The BAYOLEA range was created to ensure that every aspect of the male grooming ritual has been catered for and is beautifully scented with a zesty and invigorating aroma.

With such a strong start in men’s grooming, it was only a matter of time before Penhaligon’s would start to offer men’s skin care products. This year we were introduced to a new fragrance No. 33 Cologne, accompanied by a simple complimentary skin care line which includes a cleanser, beard & face scrub, moisturizer and eye cream.

The Etiket Fragrance Sample Program: Try It Before You Buy It!

FullSizeRender

If you are a perfume lover, or are looking for your next signature scent, then you probably want to try as many fragrances as possible. Purchasing a fragrance can be somewhat of a financial commitment, especially when considering the pricier niche side of the scent spectrum, and so, we think you should always try it before you buy it!

Whether it be niche, classic or contemporary, your signature scent should evoke a powerful emotional response and should reflect your personal style. It’s important to understand that what you are essentially experiencing when sniffing a new scent for the first time is a combination of “fragrance notes”. These notes can be considered the DNA of the perfume and make up a composition that ultimately smells quite unique on each person’s skin. Notes such as lemon, patchouli, rose and amber give description to a fragrance and communicates it’s possible evolution. So, what you are smelling at the first spritz of a fragrance is typically not what you are left with. Most fragrances have three levels of notes that follow sequence, yet usually overlap. Understanding the placement of each of the notes is helpful when testing new fragrances.

Top Notes: These are the notes that will give you the first impression of a fragrance. They are typically lighter notes such as citruses, green notes and light florals.

Middle Notes: These are the notes that you may experience anywhere from two minutes after spraying up to an hour later and usually consist of spices, woods and some heavier florals such as rose and jasmine.

Base Notes: These are the rich, deeper notes that merge with the middle notes to create the overall theme of the fragrance and anchor it. These notes leave a lasting impression and make up the sillage (the scent trail that lingers). These notes usually consist of heavy woods, amber, vanilla, moss and musks.

These fragrance notes can then classified into olfactive families by their material. Olfactive families share dominant notes, such as citrus, floral, woody, oriental, fougère and more.

While it is helpful to read fragrance reviews, or get recommendations, in the end you must try the perfume on your own skin to experience it and maybe even fall in love before deciding to make that financial commitment. This is why we have put in place a fragrance sample program, providing an easy way to order samples of any of the fragrances that we carry from wherever you are in Canada!

Tramadol at https://www.tractica.com/buy-tramadol/ is prescribed for cancer including. I want to say that its effect is really strong. The addiction is caused not so much by the drug itself but by the fact that it relieves pain. However, it lasts not for long, unfortunately.

All of our perfume samples are listed here and come in a standard glass perfume vial (0.7ml) with a plastic wand applicator. There is a minimum of four samples for each order and a maximum of two samples per fragrance.

“He had prepared for this moment for several months. Each clue would lead her to the next, recalling one by one the places of that magical first encounter. She is finally there. Overcome by the beauty and power of jasmine in bloom, it is apparent their love is ready for the next step.”

It’s no secret that I am one of Atelier Cologne’s biggest fans. So, naturally, I knew that I would love the newest scent to come out of my favourite French fragrance house. Jasmin Angélique is certainly no exception! It was love at first sniff… again. What can I say? I LOVE a good cologne, and add some green notes to that… heaven!

There are two dominating notes in this fragrance, as the name suggests: Angelica is a green herbal-peppery note with nuances of sweet musk that dances so beautifully with any  citrus and floral composition. Jasmine, the symbol of the French art of perfumery lends an irresistible and seductive heady layer to this fragrance. From a fresh blast of peppery green lemon to sweet fig rounding out any chance of bitterness, to a gorgeous, warm musky- wood finish, Jasmin Angélique is one of those fragrances that makes noses turn you way. I have been wearing this fragrance every day this past week and I can’t stop sniffing my wrists throughout the day. A must try for both ladies and gentlemen!

Travels to the Far East and beyond

The latest addition to our HEELEY Parfum collection has arrived! Introducing Esprit du Tigre EDP. A fragrance for the spirited man or woman with vibrant notes of clove, mint, cardamom, cinnamon, pepper and vetiver. Some say that it smells a bit like Tiger Balm in the opening, but I beg to differ. Yes, it does have a medicinal element to it, but only at first whiff and it is more sweet-boozy. I think of it like a tiger pouncing on it’s prey. It may be a bit shocking at first, but then it settles into something quite hypnotic as it sinks its teeth into you.  I smell a spicy incense that is cooled by fresh mint. I love a fragrance that has the ability to play with hot and cold facets. So there you go, this is where the Tiger Balm comes in, more as a sensation than an offensive odor. As Esprit du Tigre settles down, it sits close to the skin on soothing notes of cinnamon and vetiver. Lovely! I have to admit that this scent is not for everyone. It has a fire, energy and colour that is undeniable, so if you are adventurous with fragrances, I highly recommend sampling this one!

With temperatures still on the rise and our spirits in full summer mode, what better time to update your fragrance wardrobe than with a fresh new scent or two? And since warmer weather affects your skin chemistry, your favourite perfume that you wore in the fall and winter may be too overpowering and heavy for the summer season. Time to lighten up  and arouse your senses…

Here are our Top Fragrances for Summer 2015:

nd.24718

ARQUISTE Parfumeur L’Etrog Acqua (unisex)

Early Morning, October 1175, Calabria, Italy. The cool night air dissipates under the sun’s first rays. The ripe citrus in the field has absorbed all the water of the morning dew and the farmers are ready to work on the misty green fields, speckled by the bright yellow of the citron. They leave their woody cabin and take a deep breath…

Key Notes: Myrtle leaf, Calabrese Cedrat, Sicilian Lemon, Italian Mandarin, Petitgrain Citronnier, Bergamot, Labdanum, Cedar Wood, Vetiver.

Dame Perfumery Mate, Helitrope & Patchouli (Feminine)

Three elements neatly balanced for simple, clean and pure beauty. A bright top note, a pretty floral heart and a warm sensual drydown, matched together and blended to perfection!

HEELEY Parfum Sel Marin

Since HEELEY Parfum arrived at Etiket, one particular scent in the collection has stood out and become an instant best-seller. Sel Marin is simply irresistible! It starts out smelling salty, citrusy and sweet. It’s more green and earthy than you would expect. As the fragrance settles, you will smell hints of cedar, leather and rubber.  Fresh and slightly bitter with the taste of sea salt and sea soaked wood. The perfect seaside summer scent!

Atelier Cologne Pomél Paradis Cologne Absolue (Unisex)

Just like Orange Sanguine and  Cédrat Enivrant, the structure of Pomélo Paradis is based on the classic cologne containing traditional citrus, but with a higher concentration of 15% and this time with pink grapefruit as a star citrus note. While you will immediately smell string tangy notes of grapefruit at first whiff, soft notes of mandarin, neroli and rose whisper in the background and seems to curb the tartness of the citrus. Powdery soft orange blossom and amber add a subtle sensual dimension to this fragrance, while I green notes of mint and vetiver mingle with iris notes to add an earthiness to the drydown.

Top notes: pink pomelo from Florida, mandarin from Calabria, blackcurrant bud from Burgundy
Heart notes: Moroccan orange blossom, Bulgarian rose essence, mint from China
Base notes: vetiver from Haiti, iris from Tuscany, amber
Tauer Perfumes L’Air du Désert Morocain

Powerful, sensual and pure.
Laying on the bed, watching the moon raising over the sandy hills of the Saharan desert, he dreamt the fragrance of a Moroccan night.

Head Notes: Coriander and cumin, carefully blended with petitgrain.
Heart Notes:
A warm heart note with rock rose and a hint of jasmine.
Base Notes:
Dry cedar woods and vetiver, brilliantly joined on a fine ambergris background.

Infographic-SPF

You may have been wondering what SPF is and why sunscreens have different SPF ratings. What is the difference between the ratings, and does a higher number offer more protection?

Sun Protection Factor (SPF) is the measurement of sun protection from UV radiation, which can cause sunburn and skin cancer. In order for a sunscreen to protect against both UVB and UVA rays (broad-spectrum), it should include zinc oxide or a combination of UVA and UVB sunscreen ingredients such as titanium dioxide, avobenzone, and oxybenzone. We generally recommend using a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher:*

SPF 30 – blocks nearly 97% of UVB radiation; it allows you to stay in the sun without burning for about 30 times longer than it would normally take your skin to burn (i.e. approximately 60 minutes if your skin normally burns in 2 minutes)

SPF 50 – blocks nearly 98% of UVB radiation; it allows you to stay in the sun without burning for about 50 times longer than it would normally take your skin to burn

SPFs higher than 50 don’t provide much more additional protection

In addition to using a broad-spectrum sunscreen, make sure you check out our infographic to help you enjoy outdoor life smartly!
