Most men say that it just feels better and helps extend the life of a shaving cream as you tend to use less with a brush. Also, if you want to get into the wonderful world of shaving soaps, you will need a brush.

Going Against the Grain : Avoid shaving against the grain as it can cut hair below the skin and cause ingrown hairs or more serious infections, not to mention pain and discomfort.
The Rinse: Rinse with lukewarm water at first to clean the face of leftover shaving product, then splash with cold water to close up the pores. This will help prevent razor bumps and promote even hair growth.
Shower Shaving Tip: Don’t do it! Shaving while in the shower can actually leave the skin too soft and do more damage by removing layers of healthy skin cells. Wait to shave until after you are out of the shower and let your skin calm down a bit.
