On March 20th, 2014 the 6th edition of Esxence – The Scent of Excellence kicked off in Milan. Fragrance exhibitors and enthusiasts from around the world gathered at la terminnale for four days of fragrance, art, design and thought-provoking workshops and lectures. I had an amazing time with our friend behind Chemist in the Bottle – Lucas Szczesniak. With his experienced nose and our shared passion for fragrance, we immersed ourselves in sensorial pursuits and exploration to heighten our awareness and appreciation!
After hours and hours of sniffing, testing and learning about my own smell perception, I have compiled a list of the most memorable lines and the perfumes that left a lasting impression on me.
Evody: This concerns a family history tailor-made by a mother/daughter duo. The aim was to create and market innovative, high-quality fragrances. There were too many lines to visit in just four days, but I think I covered a lot of Esxence ground. This experience has intensified my love for fragrance and I’m excited to see our family of fragrance lines grow at Etiket. What line will we bring in next? It will be difficult to choose just one or two. There are so many incredible perfume lines out there and we are very selective. What I have learned is that all of the creators behind these lines have a story to tell. It’s very personal and whether you are selling or wearing a fragrance, it’s a meaningful experience.
